The inaugural event was a success at Mendakota Country Club in Mendota Heights, Minnesota on Friday September 9th, 2005. Mendakota Country Club graciously agreed to host the 2006 event on Friday, September 8th. They have now agreed to host the 2007 and the 2008 events.
Proceeds from the 2005 event were used as "Freedom Scholarships". The TEE IT UP FOR THE TROOPS scholarship program offered monetary educational scholarships to disabled active and veteran members of the US Armed Forces, and/or immediate family members of fallen or disabled members of the US Armed Forces. The success of the 2006 event provided handicapped equipped golf carts and a van to those in need. Additionally, more than $100,000 was awarded to the Wounded Warrior Project.
This Golf Tournament will continue to be networked for both state and national participation. On September 7th, 2007 the Third Annual TEE IT UP FOR THE TROOPS golf tournament continued to support the Wounded Warrior Project, America Supports You organizations and the Fisher House Foundation.
In 2007 over $500,000.00 was raised on the "National Day of Golf" and various events around the country. Proceeds from the 2007 events were distributed to different organizations.
